Are your electronic devices waterproof ?

There is a big concern about technology and its interaction with nature, especially water.

Even tech nerds, who are glued to their computer screens all the time, need time to be away from the office and get as close to the beach or nature as possible.

With convenient access to high-quality technology, you are guaranteed to have more productivity in work and faster pace of life, overall.

There are hundreds of thousand ways how people use technology in their daily life, such as in business, in education, in their homes and even while being on vacation.

Unfortunately, human love water way more than electronics do.

Moreover, things get bad when the water and electronics meet. Even the best day at the beach or in a swimming pool can be ruined by an accidental dip or two.

As technology evolves, people expect their smart devices to endure water, and we are not talking about just a few drops of water but taking the device to the depth of several meters!

Let’s see what we understand by saying waterproof?

Waterproof means that your electronic device can stay in the water without suffering any damage.

However, for different manufacturers, the concept of ”waterproof” varies.

Some gadgets are not meant to get wet.  Thankfully, now you have access to waterproof tech that won’t have a problem surviving an accidental dip or two.

The good news is that there are some waterproof devices you can take near water or in some cases, even into the water, if you wish.

I don’t know about you, but a lot of people have tried to protect their phones or gadgets in a plastic baggie or using crummy speakers, because they are afraid to ruin the good ones.

If you are tired of using these old-fashioned techniques to protect your devices, here is our list of devices you can use and not be afraid of getting your device damaged or wet.

Outside security camera

We know how important security is.  So, whether you have installed a security camera outside of your house or the office, you don’t want it to get damaged from the rain.

You can monitor your home or office with Nest Cam Outdoor Security Camera, which features a 3MP 1/3 sensor to capture 1080p video at up to 30 fps.
Nest Cam Outdoor Security Camera is able to produce clear images at night thanks to eight IR LEDs, this camera connects to your home network via Wi-Fi to transmit footage.

And most importantly, this beautifully designed camera will let you look outside your home, rain or shine. The weatherproof, tamper-resistant security camera can alert you to who’s there, up to 50 feet away. It’s a seriously smart outdoor security camera.

AMAZON KINDLE

The number one device that people wish could take with them while being on the vacation, is the Kindle by Amazon.

Amazon Kindle has passed the waterproof test.  With the all-new waterproof Kindle Paperwhite, you’re free to read and relax in more places, including the beach, pool, or bath.

Isn’t it just amazing?

JBL’s Flip 4 waterproof speakers

Amazon also offers waterproof speakers, But JBL’s Flip 4 is still the most recommended one.

According to people’s testimonials, even after submerging it underwater for 10 minutes it continued to work perfectly.

Another thing that makes Flip 4 stand out is its great sounding speaker that comes in fun colors that will help it stand out in crowded places.

The speaker also has a feature that lets two devices connect to it simultaneously, so you and a friend can take turns DJing instead of having to pass one person’s phone around.

Smartwatches

A watch is the only accessory that a lot of people wear every day.

And for some of them, since they wear it so often, it became the part of their identity.

There is an opinion that the watches are worn by the smartest and most powerful people in the world.

However, smartwatches are quite sensitive to water-related accidents since they are worn on the wrists.

That’s why we would rather go for the water-resistant smartwatch. The  Apple Watch is a great option. You pay more, but get a much better deal.

After being submerged for 30 minutes in a tank of water, it still worked fine. The test was conducted by an independent nonprofit organization, Consumer Reports, which tests products to the strictest standards.

Tim Cook, the Apple CEO, claims it’s water-resistant. He said he even showers with his own.
