The SSF-TKITE-100 Basic Fiber Testing Kit provides basic optical link testing and qualification for single-mode and multimode fibers. The included Optical Power Meter and Optical Light Source units comprise a simple solution for troubleshooting installed fiber. This kit can be used to calculate general optical power loss in decibels (dB). It is not intended for network certification to TIA-568-C standards but provides an easy-to-operate qualification solution. The test kit tests on four wavelengths (850, 1300, 1310, and 1550 nm) with a range of 70 dB. The conveniently small-sized testing units include one single-mode light source, one multimode light source, and a power meter. All testing units have a backlit LCD display and include an auto shut-off function for extended battery life. Adapters for both SC- and LC-terminated cables are included in the kit, along with a full pack of reference cables. All materials are contained in a rugged case that keeps the items neat, organized, and protected.
